LabourPains has been created by a group of specialist maternity anaesthetists, midwives and parents. This ensures you have access to information that's understandable, trustworthy and accurate. To ensure as many women as possible worldwide have access to this information, we provide a translation tool. The tool can also be used to help those with visual problems and neurodiversity.
LabourPains is part of the OAA. The OAA is a charitable organisation that provides specialist education and training on maternity care for anaesthetists, midwives and other health professionals across the world. We do this through our regular national and international meetings, online learning material and publications. To learn more about these various educational activities, please visit the OAA website.
The current chair of the LabourPains subcommittee is Dr Gemma Crossingham, who works as an obstetric anaesthetist in Devon, England, and has a passion for improving care and patient safety.
